Tucson drug dealer found guilty in massive marijuana trafficking case

TUCSON, ARIZONA (BNO NEWS) – A man of Tucson, Arizona was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute marijuana, prosecutors said on Wednesday.

Miguel Eduardo Martinez, aka “Indio”, 36, was a member of a drug trafficking organization based in Tucson from 2002 until 2008. During this period, more than ten tons of marijuana was distributed by this organization.

An investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Internal Revenue Service seized over $1 million in cash and over 1,200 pounds of marijuana. An AR-15 with a loaded 100-round drum magazine was connected to Martinez during trial as well as an AK-47, a hand grenade and a pistol found by investigators.

Martinez faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison, a minimum mandatory sentence of 5 years and a $2 million fine.
