LAS VEGAS (BNO NEWS) — A semi-truck carrying radiological material overturned north of Las Vegas on Monday morning. No leak was found and officials said there was no public health risk.

The accident happened just before noon (local time) in the Indian Springs area, about 60 to 70 miles north of Las Vegas. Haz-mat teams immediately responded to the accident after the 911 call came in at 11.56 a.m., said Scott Allison, a spokesman for the Clark County Department of Fire.

Allison said all Indian Springs schools went into lockdown and shelter-in-place as a precaution, but it was quickly ended after officials determined there was no leak. The spokesman said it was not immediately clear what kind of radiological products the truck was carrying.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident, Allison added.
