Tropical Storm Karl makes landfall on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula
September 15th, 2010 - 9:24 pm ICT by BNO NewsMIAMI (BNO NEWS) — Tropical storm Karl made landfall near Chetumal, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula on Wednesday morning, meteorologists say.
Data from the Belize City radar indicates that the center of Karl made landfall at about 7:45 a.m. CDT (1245 UTC) on the Yucatan PenĂnsula about 50 kilometers (30 miles) east-northeast of Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo state, the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
Karl has maximum sustained winds of 100 km/hr (65 mph).
