Oct 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Troops in Mexico have recently burned the biggest marijuana haul in the country’s history, when they disposed of one hundred and thirty-four tons of pot on a make-shift platform at a military base.

It took several hours for the soldiers to unload the shipment, from three tractor trailers, and one small truck. There were 15,300 bales which were covered in plastic or foil, with the labels “yoyo”, “wolf” or “dog”, and some with a picture of ‘Homer Simpson’ which was believed to be headed to the US.

On Wednesday, the burning of the weed became quite a celebration as a military band played, Army and police commanders gave their speeches, the bales of pot were doused in fuel, and as college kids, reporters, and dignitaries all had their cameras at the ready, the bales were lit on fire.

The thick, black smoke which poured from the weed was sent into the wind, and a column of it was within view for several miles. The aroma of marijuana filled the air, as the guest began to leave, and the marijuana will continue burning for at least two days.
