Millions of children will be out for Trick Or Treating on Halloween. According to reports, the number was estimated to be around 36 million last year. However, the teenagers might be disappointed in 2010, as many cities across United States have imposed a ban on Trick Or Treating for children above 12. However, the younger ones can have a good time tomorrow roaming around in the neighborhood and asking “Trick Or Treat” to their neighbors.

Trick Or Treating is the custom which has children dressed in Halloween costumes going from door to door and posing the question “Trick Or Treat”? to the homeowners. Treat generally refers to a candy while trick is an innocent threat to cause mischief on the homeowners property if the treat is refused. Trick Or Treating became a customary practice in the United States since 1950’s and children below five years and above 13 years of age are also known to participate in it. Though Trick Or Treating is great fun for the small ones, a few safety precautions is nonetheless essential.

It is best to accompany children when they are going out for Trick Or Treating. Children should be instructed to avoid eating candies that appear to have been tampered with. It is advisable not to visit the houses which you don’t know and people are asked to keep road safety in mind while out for Trick Or Treating. Last but not the least people are asked to inform the police of any suspicious activity such as vandalisms and egging.
