Tomb of the Unknown Soldier San Antino, Nov 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Glowing tributes were paid to the Tomb of the unknown soldiers by Presidents and folks alike. San Antonians also paid generous tribute to those in the service on the noble occasion of Veterans Day.

At the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, civilians laid wreaths for the brave fallen soldiers. It’s part of a tradition that took place at more than 200 cemeteries around the whole country, where all the civilians remember the supreme sacrifice of the noble and the brave soldiers who braved the elements and sacrificed their lives so that the others could live in peace.

USAA is also trying to show its heart-felt respect for the military personnel by letting them call their family members for free. The company expects about 120,000 calls to be made today from nearly 900 Internet cafes in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as from hospitals and recreation centers abroad too.

USAA, some private donations and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will pay for the free calls. Also in tribute to the Veterans Day holiday, all county and city offices are closed for the day, including public libraries and post offices.
