London, Jan 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a very innovative move, the international hotel chain Holiday Inn are having a trial human bed-warming service in their hotels in Britain. This facility would be available in 3 of their hotels. However this facility is available on request only.

If a guest makes a request for the facility then the a staff-member will don an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit, and then jump in between the bed sheets, to warm the bed before the guest uses it. “The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed,” Holiday Inn spokeswoman Jane Bednall said. And the bed warmer will also have a thermometer with him, so that he can make sure that the bed is an ambient temperature of 20 degree Celsius. “There’s plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning of the night when body temperature starts to drop,” a spokesman said.

After warming up the bed, the human warmer would leave the bed, well in time, before the guest arrives. The hotel authorities refused to comment on the question, whether the body-warmer would have a shower first, before jumping into the bed sheets. However they did divulge that the bed-warmer’s head would be covered, so that there are no fallen hairs on the bed, before the guest arrives.
