Tree surgeon Adam Baldock killed by his own chainsaw
February 12th, 2011 - 12:47 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Feb 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 27-year-old tree surgeon was killed when a powerful branch he was cutting turned his chainsaw on him.
It was a gruesome sight as the chainsaw cut the left side of his neck. He was killed instantly from the accident and the police have ruled out foul play in the accident.
A spokesman for the police told reporters that, “He was fatally injured while working as a tree surgeon. It seems he was trying to cut a branch and it pushed the chainsaw back at him.”
Adam Baldockon was thrown 20ft from the top of the tree after the accident.
His girlfriend of three years left a card at the scene of the accident. He died on exactly the third anniversary of his relationship with Katie Walker. The couple have an 18-year-old daughter together.
Katie described Baldockon as the perfect father and partner for her and her daughter.
The accident happened on Wednesday at around 2pm while he was working at Varley Way in Mitcham, Surrey. The company that he worked for, Acacia have ordered independent investigations into the accident to prevent future recurrence.
