Traffic stopped on Southbound Interstate 5 in Oregon due to snow

SOUTHWESTERN, OREGON (BNO NEWS) – Due to snow conditions in California, Southbound Interstate 5 traffic has been stopped at the South Ashland exit 14 in Oregon, local authorities said.

Traffic is being held in Oregon at the request of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and there is currently no estimate for when traffic will be released into California, informed Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Assistant District Manager Shaun Stevens.

For those in Oregon, you can receive updates on the road conditions by going onto www.TripCheck.com or by calling 511. Road and weather information can also be accessed toll-free within Oregon by dialing (800) 977-ODOT (6368).

If you are in California, you can receive updates on the road conditions by going onto Caltrans’ Web site, http://www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi, or by calling 511.
