Traffic Reporter Desiree Fontaine Charged With Shoplifting

d June 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Desiree Fontaine, a traffic reporter in New Haven, Connecticut on WTNH, was arrested on Saturday for shoplifting a little more than one hundred dollars worth of merchandise from a ‘Sears’ store in Milford Conn.

The 33 year old traffic reporter was taken into custody on Saturday after the store’s security claimed to have witnessed her trying to leave the premises with merchandise which she had not paid for. According to the very station which Fontaine works, WTHN, the following was reported, “The police report states that Fontaine was arrested Saturday after being confronted by security in the Sears store in Milford. The allegation is that she attempted to take merchandise from the store worth $104.98 without paying.”

Fontaine was said to have been released from custody on her own recognisance, provided that she promised to appear in court on the date of July 7. The station went on to say that this was a personal matter, and refused further comment. In addition to being the traffic reporter for the station, she also hosts her own television show entitled, “Connecticut Style”. She has worked as a reporter for 5 years, in different areas.
