London, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The officials at Omega have got a lot of explaining to do because the Trafalgar Square’s Olympic Clock has stopped working. And sadly the most remarkable thing is that it developed a glitch just a day after being showcased to the world.

The Olympics are all set to be held in July 2012 in London and the clock was unveiled when just 500 days were left. At the unveiling ceremony there were a number of celebrities such as London mayor Boris Johnson and sports stars like Jessica Ennis, Olympic champion rowers Pete Reed and Andy Hodge and sailors Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson. However due to unknown reasons the clock stopped working leaving the Olympic and the Omega officials embarrassed.

Omega released an official statement about the glitch in which they said that, “We are obviously very disappointed that the clock has suffered this technical issue. The Omega London 2012 countdown clock was developed by our experts and fully tested ahead of the launch in Trafalgar Square. We are currently looking into why this happened and expect to have the clock functioning as normal as soon as possible.”
