New York, June, 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Today June 7th, it’s National Chocolate Ice Cream Day.

Even though experts believe that the first ice creams were fruit-based, vanilla and chocolate became very popular ice cream flavours during the 18th century. In that century, Thomas Jefferson became an ice cream fan while he was living in France while working as the US ambassador. Historians believe that he was probably responsible for bringing ice cream to the US.

America today produces more than 1.6 billion gallons of this frozen treat each year. Ice creams are very versatile, as they can be served in cones or cups, and they can be added to sundaes and milk shakes. One of the most popular ice cream flavors is chocolate ice cream.

Although they are delicious, ice creams should be eaten in moderation, as many artificial flavors, emulsifiers, thickeners, sweeteners and other harmful chemicals are often added to ice creams and chocolates.

These substances can cause a number of health conditions, including allergies, diabetes and obesity and they can harm the liver and kidney. In addition, many ice creams contain gelatin and other animal source ingredients that vegetarians may be eating unintentionally.
