weedsSep 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of the common problems that a gardener or a farmer faces is the unwanted disturbance of weeds. The weeds are the malignant plants which have a common trait of outgrowing the fruits, vegetables, flowers and grasses that people wishes to cultivate in their yards. Here we can provide you with some tips where you can control weeds without destroying treasured plants or harming the environment.

One of the most popular ways of taming your weeds can be fire. Some sources say that plant cells are full of liquid sap and when intense heat is applied to the plant, the sap boils and burst the cal walls and kill the plants or even destroy the effected portion of it. Another important method of taming weeds is soil improvement. Regular care of soil with compost, fertilizer and manure can enrich the soil to a greater extent and gives it chance to fight. Even heavy infrequent watering encourages the grass to develop deep roots. Lime and nitrogen rich-fertilizer will help to create unfavorable condition for weeds to grow.

Pesticides and herbicides can also be one of the best options as it totally kills the germs and does not allow weeds top survive. Aeration will increase airflow in the soils and decrease soil compaction. “Claw”, “Fish Tail Weeder” and “Ideal Weeder” are some of the tools which help to get rid of weeds from the plants. Non-toxic and non-selective herbicide is also useful as it does not have any harmful effect on plants. Mulch will also help the soil retain moisture reducing the need for watering. Mowing and also alternative herbicides come to the rescue of the farmers and gardeners by driving away weeds.
