Aylmer, Aug 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tibor Szabo created a big buzz, quite literally when he won the ‘Clovermead Bees & Honey Bee Beard Competition’. The other contenders of the contest were sad to lose the competition as well as because of the stinging bees too.

The competitors in the contest had to wear a small cage just below the chin. The queen bee was placed in the cage and she manages to attract hundreds of worker bees, thus creating a beard on the contestant. “Every colony has one queen. They all recognize her by smell. We put her in a small plastic cage and tie it around the neck, and we take the bees from her colony,” according to professional beekeeper Melanie Kempers.

It surely was a very brave competition, as all the contestants knew that there would be only one winner, yet they courageously braved the bee stings in their apparent endeavor to be the winner. However ultimately Tibor was declared as the winner and his head was completely covered in bees. He raised his hands in triumph when he was declared as the winner of the competition.

Animal trainer Mark Biancaniello belonging to US created a record in 1998 when he attracted 350,000 bees to his body. And by doing so he managed to create a record for the most amount of bees worn by anybody. Reportedly the bees weighed an astonishing 40 kg.
