Three detained in Switzerland on suspicion of planning bomb attack

ZURICH (BNO NEWS) — Three men have been arrested for allegedly planning a bomb attack against the Swiss subsidiary of a major international company, the country’s prosecutor’s office said on Sunday, Swissinfo news agency reported.

The office said that the men, two Italians and a Swiss living in Italy, were arrested on April 15 during a traffic control by Zurich police in Langnau am Albis. Police found explosives and other items in their car that could have been used in a bomb attack.

The office said that no other details could be given for the time being as inquiries were continuing.

It said it would not comment on a report in the SonntagsBlick newspaper which said the target was the IBM research centre in Rüschlikon, near Zurich.
