CIUDAD JUAREZ (BNO NEWS) — At least 13 people were killed as hitmen stormed a house while teenagers were partying in Ciudad Juarez on Sunday, local media said.

Hitmen arrived in seven cars, blocked the streets and stormed the high school student party, witnesses said. Two of the killed were shopping at a grocery store nearby.

The gunmen started shooting from outside the house and then they went room by room killing the students, and pursued others as they tried to scape jumping over a fence. At least 111 AK-47 bullet casings were found at scene, a police source told CNN.

When the police and the Army arrived at the scene, they were confronted by angry residents. It was not clear if any of the students was linked to a drug cartel, but at least one of them witnessed a multiple homicide days ago, according to El Diario newspaper.

Also it was reported that gunmen stormed into a bar in the city of Torreon in northern Mexico on Sunday, killing at least 18 people.

At leas 20 people were injured, according to police sources, the Vanguardia newspaper said on its website. Three people were found dead in Torreon’s nearby city Gomez Palacios, the newspaper added.

The Mexican Pacific coast was also hit by drug related violence in the last 24 hours. Two people were found dead in Acapulco in the Guerrero State. Two civilians and one police officer were killed in Lazaro Cardenas in the Michoacan state.
