Think before you hit that “Send” button on the email
October 25th, 2010 - 8:17 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Oct 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Emails are tremendous tools. They offer great way of communicating and their “instanstability” make it very appealing to many people.
Like every great tool, if it is handled carelessly, the email can be a destructive tool that can eliminate all your good work in a minute.
It is always important to make sure that you really want to send what you have typed before you hit send. Sending an email or its attachment to a person is serious because there is no way you can recall it back.
As an analogy, if you send vital medical information meant for your doctor to your worse friend, you can imagine what happens. You might say there is nothing like “worse friend” but you must know that it is not all your friends that have your best interest at heart.
Sending vital information and email to the wrong person is not the only reason why you should think twice before you hit the “send” button. Hitting the send button takes less than a second for the mail to be delivered so make sure the words in the email is exactly the information you want to portray.
For example if you are angry and want to let the person know you are really angry, you can pour out lots of “garbage” on your email but remember that before you hit the “send” button you mean every word that you have written because there is no way you can take those words back. What makes it worse is that the person might not need to tell anybody what you did. If they want others to know what you have done, the person would just forward the mail to the people involved and that might be too late to regret.
The email is a great tool but make sure you use it responsibly and never press the “send” button without thinking twice.
