San Juan Capistrano, Feb 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Some thieves efficiently stole away jewelery worth $1 million without leaving behind any trace in the city of San Juan Capistrano. The thieves broke into a jewelry store in the city when it was closed. The incident occurred sometime between late Tuesday or early Wednesday. According to Jim Amormino, an Orange County sheriff’s spokesperson, the thieves broke into Mission Jewelers store at 31878 Del Obispo St., from a neighboring shop which was also vacant. They reportedly used drills to cut a hole between the shared wall of both the stores. As they completed their mission, they made another tunnel in a back room in order to escape. According to police, they avoided using the previous hole in an attempt to avoid being seen through a window.
Jim Amormino said, the thieves were well equipped. They carried out their mission in a planned manner. They successfully dismantled all surveillance equipments including the alarm system and camera of the store. Jim Amormino said, “This was definitely a sophisticated and well-planned operation.” He further added that the thieves had cut all the wires in order to ensure that nothing is recorded.
However, the police department has reportedly found out some evidences that will help them in their investigation. The investigation department is not sure of the number of persons involved in the theft. They expect it to be more than one. The thief or the thieves escaped safely after dismantling a heavy metal security door. The investigation is still on. What remains to be seen is that whether the investigators can find the thieves and recover jewelery which were stolen.
