snowkidJan 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Those who earn by shoveling snow the entire day have an idea how tough the job is. It was even harder for a seventh grader from Missouri especially when he was robbed of the hard earned money by a thief. He was given $24 for shoveling snow which made his day. The incident made many people sympathetic for the boy and they spent out of their pockets to make him a tad happy. Brandon Storey the boy said that he was pretty much upset because it involved a lot of hard work. He stopped to count the money at a picnic table when a stranger snatched the money and ran off. A regional radio station soon broadcast his fiasco and the listeners acted promptly.

Charlie Thomas the radio host said “Next thing I know, one of the listeners walks in the door, and hands me $30 and that started it off”. Very soon the radio station raised $177 for the boy who was feeling low after the theft. Needless to say the boy was on cloud nine when he saw it. Even the police officer who handed down the money to Brandon Storey was emotionally moved by the incident. However, it looks like the thief who stole his money may not get nabbed. Brandon Storey did not talk to him and neither he could give a satisfying description of the person.

After getting much more than what he had originally earned for snow shoveling the boy expressed his thanks to the community residents. He said “There are good people and some bad, and a lot of people like to help out with other people”.
