The “Jaycee Dugard Missing” File Closes With Her Return

jayceeAuthorities announced the safe return of Jaycee Lee Dugard to the world, by holding a press conference in Placerville, Calif, on Thursday at 3 p.m. Jaycee had been kidnapped when she was a 11 year old in 1991 and kept in captivity all these years. On Wednesday, she walked in to a Concord area police station along with her two children (born during the years in captivity), to announce her existence and stunned the world.

In the press release, Lt. Bryan Gomitz of the El Dorado County Sheriffs said, “At the time of incident it was reported that a vehicle drove up to Jaycee Dugard and abducted her in view of her stepfather. .. Since the date of occurrence the investigation has been ongoing and today’s events could bring it to resolution.”

To this date, every attempt to locate Jaycee had been futile and it almost looked like she had vanished in to thin air. At the press conference, the officials announced the nature in which Jaycee was kept away from the eyes of the world all these long years. Her abductors, a 58 year old man named Phillip Garrido and his 54 year old wife Nancy, have been indicted to be at the bottom of the 1991 kidnapping.

According to a spokesman for the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department, Garrido is also charged with and held for investigation on charges of rape, involving in lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and sexual penetration. Garrido has also forcibly fathered two children with his captive. Nancy is held on ground of conspiring in kidnapping.

On hearing the news, Garrido’s brother Ron has said, “It just seems so bizarre, but I can believe it. I know my brother, and I can believe he did that..He’s a fruitcake.”

Ms.Dugard has been reunited with her mother after her appearance at the police station.
