The Appeal Of A Christmas Story Still Remains Unfazed

A Christmas Story Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There are a lot of people who love watching Christmas themed movies during the holidays and the days leading to Christmas. It is the time for reunion with friends and family members. In this context, an American comedy named A Christmas Story deserves special mention. Bob Clerk worked as its director. Over the decades this film has become a cult Christmas classic and is watched by numerous families during the Christmas. Various TV channels have also shown the film in the festive seasons. In fact, its popularity has grown manifold with time.

A few sequels of the film were made but they just could not create the magic of the first film. The popularity and appeal of the film has made it timeless and that explains why a lot of people have tried to adapt it in to a stage play. The San Diego Junior Theater is going to present a stage adaptation of the famous movie dealing with BB Guns, Leg Lamps and Ralphie Parker. The director of the play said that its theme attracts both the young generation as well as their parents. The viewers can identify with Ralphie and feels like joining his campaign for a Red Rider gun.

The venue of the play is La Jolla’s Firehouse YMCA Theatre. The San Diego Junior Theatre is a non profit and private organization. It aims to offer the young generation the charm of theater arts by means of performances, camps and classes. Apart from these, the group also conducts outreach programs for enlightening and educating its target audience.
