Texas Man Gets Death Penalty For Beheading Three Toddlers

July 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A south Texas man was sentenced by a jury to death on Thursday, after convicting him just four days prior of the 2003 capital murder by beheading of three children under the age of four, who belonged to his common law wife.

This is the second time that a jury has convicted John Allen Rubio of the brutal murders of three year old Julissa Quesada, 14 month old John E Rubio, and 2 month old Mary Jane Rubio on March 11 2003 in a Brownsville Texas apartment which the murderer shared with the mother of the babies.

John Allen Rubio tortured the children by smothering, and stabbing them, in the presence of their own mother, who is serving a life sentence for her part in the slayings of her own babies. He finally killed each of them by cutting off their heads….stopping in the middle of the slayings to have sex with their mother, Angela Camacho because they felt it would most likely be the last chance they had.

Rubio’s own brother called the police after stopping by with his girlfriend to visit with Rubio, and finding the scene. The officers found the bodies of the three children after being flagged down by Rubio’s brother. The first officer on the scene told the jury that as soon as he saw the decapitated body of one tiny child in a back bedroom, Rubio held out his wrists and told the policeman to arrest him.

Although Rubio has been convicted previously if the same murders back in 2003, the decision was overturned in 2007 because the statements which had been made by the mother of the children were not supposed to be allowed in court, and yet they were used as evidence to convict him.

Rubio has tried several excuses for his inconceivable actions, such as to explain that he was abused as a child, and to try pleading insanity, claiming he was a paranoid schizophrenic. That defense was rejected by the jury, which took four hours of deliberation to find the man guilty of four counts of capital murder, one charge for each child, and then one for the combined murders of all three.
