Nov 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Just like any other teenager of her age, 15-year-old Grace Etherington, was quite upbeat when she got an ear pierced. However, the consequences that she would have to face due to the ear piercing was something that the young British dancer could have never imagined even in her wildest dreams. The routine ear-piercing went horribly wrong as within days, she developed a viral infection that left her paralyzed, unable to move any part of her body except her eyelids. With doctors diagnosing the teenager with a rare immune disorder Guillain-Barre syndrome and predicting that she would never be able to recover from his condition, it was a dead end for both the Grace Etherington and her mother.
However, defying all odds and with her sheer determination as well as will power, the teenager was able to win her battle against the disorder that affects that nervous system of the body and has been successful in recuperating to a large extent. The incredible story of 15-year-old British dancer came to light after a reputed news source published her story recently in where Grace Etherington recalled the horrific ordeal that she had to endure since last November.
To the utter amazement of the doctors, by late last year, she was able to take few steps while in March she was able to walk again with the help of intensive physical therapy. However, her biggest achievement came when she was able to join a dancing troupe in London which was a dream come true for her. Her mother, Sharon Etherington told the media outlet “We were so proud of her.”
