Technical issue delays Fortnum & Mason’s hampers

London, Dec 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fortnum & Mason has apologized to their customers who might not receive their hampers on time this Christmas. The company said they are currently facing challenges with their computers and that has greatly affected their capacity to deliver orders on time.

In a statement released by the company, they explained that system upgrade have gone wrong adding that they have also been overwhelmed with record orders.

The statement said that, “We are very sorry that the situation has occurred and are doing everything in our power to rectify it for our customers, so that going forward we can deliver the excellence of service that they expect,”

The company have subsequently employed more hands and got its current employers to work overtime to ensure that all the orders are delivered on time for the Christmas. The company said everyone from the “managing director to the temporary Christmas staff” is currently involved in finding ways to rectify the problem.

F&M is one of the oldest British firms around. Formed in 1707, the company has been involved in sending hampers for almost three hundred years now. Some of their customers include celebrities, royalties and politicians around the world.

Some customers have expressed their frustration at the delay in getting their hampers delayed.
