Teacher sentenced to 10 years for having a physical relationship with her students
June 29th, 2010 - 11:48 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattFlorida, Jun 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A judge has sentenced a Florida teacher to 10 years behind bars, for indulging in sex with her students. The Circuit Judge Chet Tharpe also called her a ‘sexual predator’ and also imposed a probation of 5 years on Stephanie Ragusa.
When the sentencing was going on, then Stephanie who was dressed in an orange jumpsuit was crying, and also nodding her head.
The Circuit Judge Chet Tharpe admonished her and said that, “You were a teacher. And as parents, we place our trust in teachers to provide a safe environment in which our children can learn. You violated that trust in the worst imaginable way. You preyed on these young boys…”
He also berated her for having a very lackadaisical attitude and said that she seemed very arrogant, despite being a sexual predator and being sentenced to 10 years behind bars. He also added that she was a danger to the children in the community.
It ought to be recalled that Stephanie Ragusa was a Math’s teacher in the Davidsen Middle School in Tampa. She had also pleaded guilty to three counts of ‘lewd and lascivious battery’ and 2 counts of unlawful sex with a person who wasn’t a major, in April.
