Hooters Phoenix, Dec 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An Arizona teacher has come under fire, for taking 40 students to a Hooters restaurant for lunch. Prior to the lunch, the students had performed at the Presidential Inauguration event in Phoenix. After the performance, the choir director Mary Segall wanted to take her students for lunch but apparently couldn’t find any place that could seat so many people at a go.

So they went to Hooters Restaurant where there was ample space to seat all of them. But this lunch outing has not gone well with the school administration and the district officials at all. So the choir director Mary Segall had no option but to go on administrative leave after this incident.

Since Mary Segall, who took students to Hooters Restaurant for lunch, is retiring in January 2010. So it is not clear whether she would return to work before her retirement or not.

Paradise Valley school district spokeswoman Judi Willis said that the choir director Mary Segall accompanied the students to a performance in downtown Phoenix last week, and during the outing, they ate lunch at Hooters. Judi Willis said that Segall explained that the restaurant, known for its waitresses’ somewhat revealing attire, was the only place that could accommodate a group of that size. But district officials believe there were other options for lunch in the area.
