air New York, Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating if a child was involved in directing the traffic at the Kennedy Airport. At the air traffic control tower of the Kennedy Airport, a child’s voice was heard on tape, making almost half a dozen transmissions to pilots who were preparing for takeoff.

The child is heard saying, “JetBlue 171 contact departure” and “Adios, amigo” while clearing a plane for takeoff. Another voice attributed to an adult is heard saying that, “That’s what you get, guys, when the kids are out of school.” Boston’s’ WFXT-TV got hold of all these recordings. The audio recording is just a minute long, and the child is merely repeating the instructions that he is being asked to say. However during the entire recording, the child doesn’t tell the pilots how to maneuver the plane, or where they ought to go. After this embarrassing episode, the FAA has completely stopped unofficial visits by friends and/or relatives of the personnel working at the air traffic control tower.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that, “Pending the outcome of our investigation, the employees involved in this incident are not controlling air traffic. This behavior is not acceptable.” The Federal Aviation Administration has asked the controller and the supervisor to proceed on administrative leave immediately. The Federal Aviation Administration’s Administrator Randy Babbitt said that this particular episode was a “lapse in judgment.”
