testHouston, June 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Normandy Crossing Elementary School has been in the limelight for reasons that it can hardly be proud of.

A number of employees of the school which includes the principal, the assistant principal as well as three teachers had to give their resignation after an investigation revealed that they were allegedly found to have tampered with the tests of the students of the school.

After an investigation was undertaken by Galena Park Independent School District, it came to light that the educators had supposedly distributed a study guide with all the details that the students might need which formed an open tube so that the questions that were written inside can be viewed and utilized in the guide.

Mark Henry, who is associated with the district had earlier revealed that a probe in the matter had been initiated after a teacher of Normandy Crossing brought to light the unexpectedly high TAKS scores among few students who had difficulty in learning.

The investigation further revealed that the test scores of some students were altered by the educators while wrong answers were pointed out to students so that it could be changed.

Meanwhile, the startling revelation of educators manipulating the standardized tests of students has also been reported from other states such as Georgia, Virginia, Massachusetts, Nevada, Indiana.

The main reason which is being presumed to have propelled educators to take such an extreme step is said to be the higher stakes involved in standardized testing which includes reviewing the performance of the teachers based on the progress shown by the students in the tests.
