Suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq member captured
June 4th, 2010 - 3:15 am ICT by BNO NewsBAGHDAD (BNO NEWS) – A suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) member was captured on Thursday, U.S. Forces in Iraq said.
A joint operation between Iraqi Security Forces and U.S. advisors was carried out in west Mosul, conducting a vehicle stop to apprehend the suspected AQI member, who allegedly has extensive ties to Mosul’s AQI leadership.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the warranted AQI individual.
Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
