Daytona Beach, Oct 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Florida police have taken a man accused of trying to copy the Craiglist Killer into police custody. The 38-year-old suspect allegedly tried to kill a 37-year-old boat seller.

The police say suspect Darin Leutbecker phoned Ronald Kroll and convinced him to meet. The two reportedly met and decided to take a ride in a boat along the Intracoastal Waterway. The incident happened on the 7th of September at about 10 o’clock in the morning. According to the police, when the boat was well clear off the coast and into the water, Leutbecker asked Kroll to get to the front of the boat.

Kroll did and the next instruction of Leutbecker caused him to suspect foul play. When Kroll reportedly refused to turn away from Leutbecker and simulate fishing, the suspect pulled out a handgun from his backpack.

Kroll later told the police that the two men started struggling over the firearm and that sent them both into the water. He claimed that he used a pocketknife that he had on him at that time to cut Leutbecker on the neck. However Leutbecker managed to get into the boat and drove off leaving Kroll in the water.

Kroll reported that incident to the police and a tip off led to the arrest of Leutbecker at a local hospital where he was seeking treatment for neck injury.
