gun1 Chicago, Mar 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US Supreme Court is all set to rule today on a very important matter – whether to strike down the long standing ban on hand guns in Chicago or not. The US Supreme Court will hear the arguments from both the sides, and then take a stand. Both the sides – the gun-control groups and the gun-rights group will present their arguments, and after hearing the arguments from both the sides, the Supreme Court will take the final decision.

The gun control group says that the if the ban is lifted then the usage of guns would increase, and subsequently the violence will also increase. Whereas on the other hand, the gun-rights group argue that the ban prevents the law-abiding people from protecting themselves and their family. Besides this, since the guns are banned so the illegal gun trade is also on the rise, and who-so-ever wants a gun, gets it illegally. “We’ve turned our backs on common-sense gun laws in America and we continuously, unfortunately, continue shooting each other on a daily basis,” Mayor Richard Daley told the reporters on Monday.

It may be recalled that the court had already ruled against the Washington gun ban earlier, so it remains to be seen, which way the wind will blow in this case.
