Sunda Croonquist has been accused by her mother in law, Ruth Zaffrin for “spreading false defamatory and racist lies” and poking fun at her.

The comedian has an African-American mother and a Swedish father and has a natural inclination on racial issues and differences of origin that she subjects to her witty deliveries.

The lawsuit filed against her by Zaffrin refrains her from from using the casual offensive statements, and asks her to remove them from her website. The comedian has agreed to execute her request but has plainly refused that she will make any amends on a mercenary basis. She clarified to sources that she has an individual perspective, as any free person could rightfully have. She even mentioned that she had converted to Judaism long before she married into the Jewish family.

Her attorney has dismissed allegations and there will be a hearing shortly on September 8th reportedly.

Her sister in law Shelley Edelman with her husband Neil are supporting the notion that the comedian has thoughtlessly misused the family image and exaggerated the cultural distinctions that existed between them. There is perhaps a certain superiority the comedian feels owing to her catholic upbringing that has hurt the sentiments of the Jewish family.

Sunda employs observational humor and is genuinely entertaining to her viewers. She often imitated her mother-in-law,on stage. She proposes that there is nothing derogatory in her jokes.

Amendment law expert Bostwick told AP that people who took offense personally under such circumstances were way too sensitive. It is a significant question that who should make the laws on where to draw the line.
