According to sources, Kosen who hails from the town of Mardin in Eastern Turkey is reportedly 8 foot one inch tall. The declaration from Guinness now puts Kosen ahead of the previous record holder Bao Xi Shun of China, who was measured at 7 ft 8.95 inches. Kosen is probably the only person to have achieved a height of over 8 ft in a decade.

Sources reveal that the previous record holder Bao Xi Shun had regained his title last year when Ukranian Leonid Stadnyk, who claims that he measures at about 8 feet 5.5 inches was stripped off his title by Guinness when the latter refused to let anyone confirm his height. Stadnyk had reportedly told the media that he refused to be measured independently as he wants to stay away from the public glare. “If this title would have given me more health and a few extra years, I would have taken it. But the opposite happened, I only wasted my nerve cells,” he said.

Kosen, who was overwhelmed with the honor of being the world’s tallest man told reporters that based on this newly earned title of his, he would be going for a search to find true love. “Up until now it’s been really difficult to find a girlfriend. I have never had one..they were usually scared of me. Hopefully now when I am famous, I will be able to meet a lot of girls. I hope to get married someday,” said the 27 year old Kosen.
