Manchester, July 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fast food chain Subway is all set to break a major barrier and open a branch in a Manchester school. The Subway officials are in talks with the Parrs Wood High School officials to open a branch in their school, in which the outlet would serve meals to the school’s students.

The discussions between the two parties are in the initial stages and the branch would serve a lot of options for all the students. If the talks go through then the branch would open at the Sixth Form College. Headteacher Andy Shakos said that, “At the moment we are at an early stage. We are looking at how we can change the provision for our students in the sixth form. Subway is one of the possibilities we are looking at.”

There has been a lot of criticism over Subway being opened in the school premises as most of their products have a high salt content. However the Subway officials had said that they are reducing the high salt content in their products by more than 30%

The school bosses have roped in restaurant owners Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent to draft a healthy menu for all the students.
