NEW YORK CITY (BNO NEWS) – A winter storm “hurricane” is expected to hit the northeast of the nation Wednesday night, the National Weather Service announced.

Winds of up to 50-mph are forecasted to generate a hurricane-type snow storm that will affect the New England coast as snow has already fallen on the Hudson Valley.

A mixture of rain and snowfall is expected to generate from 6 to 20 inches of heavy, wet snow in different areas of New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Maine.

With the combination of heavy snow and strong wind gusts, New England residents should prepare for the severe blizzard condition that may bring down several trees and power lines.
