Strong earthquake rocks Argentina
February 27th, 2010 - 11:12 pm ICT by BNO NewsNEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — A strong earthquake struck Argentina’s Salta Province on Saturday, seismologists said.
The earthquake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 6.3, struck about 5 kilometers northwest of Salta, the capital city of the country’s Salta Province. A seismologist at the U.S. Geological Survey said the data was still subject to change.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported a 5.8-magnitude for the earthquake, which struck at 12.45 p.m. local time.
