Strong but deep earthquake hits northern Afghanistan, felt in Pakistan
September 18th, 2010 - 2:55 am ICT by BNO NewsKABUL (BNO NEWS) — A strong but deep earthquake struck the Hindu Kush Region of Afghanistan on late Friday evening, seismologists said.
The 6.3-magnitude earthquake at 11.51 p.m. local time (1921 GMT) was centered approximately 72 kilometers (45 miles) south-southeast of Feyzabad, Afghanistan. It struck about 199 kilometers (124 miles) deep, making it a deep earthquake, according to the United States Geological Survey,
The earthquake was also felt in parts of Pakistan.
