New York, Nov 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Vada Vasquez was shot by a stray bullet and was in a critical condition. But doctors attending on her today clarified that she is having a good recovery and will be home by Christmas. She was in coma for a week, which was naturally quiet, an issue of tension and worry for her parents. But now she is on the path to a miraculous recovery.

The doctors attending to her say that all this is due to her ‘youthful resilience’. She showed signs of coming out from coma yesterday when she suddenly recognized her mother and said ‘mom’. Since then thankfully it has been an uphill journey for her. Her parents, family, friends and relatives are naturally quiet relieved and thankful to God for the positive signs.

They are celebrating a quiet Thanksgiving Day today, all thanks to their beloved Vada’s miraculous recovery.

It may be recalled that, an innocent 15-year-old girl Vada Vasquez was shot in street crossfire. She was hit by a stray bullet and was in quiet a serious condition in the hospital. She was shot when she was returning from Bronx Latin HS on Monday afternoon.

Vada’s attending doctor, Narayan Sundaresan, who is a famous neurosurgeon, said that he was pleased with her prognosis. He also added that if the stray bullet had wavered and gone even slightly in any other direction then she would have had been in a much worse situation or it might have had proved fatal also.
