On Friday, July 10 2009, New England mobster Stephen Flemmi aka “The Rifleman”, gave account of the 1981 gruesome murder of Debra Davis, stating for the first time his connection to the incident. Yesterday, in a federal court, the former “Man Friday” of the notorious gangster James Whitey Bulger gave his testimony in relation to the pending charges that had been slapped on them.

Flemmi spoke of the incident, telling that he had to go through a very harrowing time after bearing witness to the brutal murder of Debra, who was his girlfriend at the time she was murdered by Bulger. Flemmi admits that he had lured Davis to a vacant place where Whitey had been hiding and waiting. Whitey had then murdered the 26 year old Davis by strangling her ruthlessly. Later he had pulled out her teeth so that the body could not be identified very easily.

While speaking about the murder of Davis, a woman he had been dating for quite sometime (from the time she was 17), the 75 year old Flemmi did not display any kind of emotion as such. He said that Whitey had wanted to get rid of Davis after finding out that Flemmi spilled the beans about their secret to her. Flemmi had revealed to Davis that both he and Whitey were undercover FBI informers.

This piece of news lead to the brutal murder of the Davis. Flemmi also said that Whitey was extremely jealous of his beautiful young girlfriend and the amount of time that Flemmi and Davis were spending together.
