State Dinner crashers Salahis New York, Nov 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The publicity hungry couple Michaele and Tareq Salahi who also appeared in a Reality show, managed to gatecrash into the US President Barack Obama’s first state dinner in honor of the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. They managed to fit themselves in a very strict and selected guest list of 300 people on Tuesday night. And now they are exploiting their gate crashing feat for money, by going around shopping for TV interviews. They are selling their story to broadcast networks for hundreds of thousands of dollars, a television executive says.

The Associated Press said that the representatives for Michaele and Tareq Salahi contacted networks to urge them to “get their bids in” for an interview. The executive said that the Virginia couple was looking for a payment in the mid-six figures range.

Meanwhile, CNN has confirmed that the gate crashing Salahi’s had canceled an appearance that they had earlier scheduled for “Larry King Live” on Monday.

For the Secret Service entrusted with the President Barack Obama’s security, this is a serious security breach. They are investigating how the security arrangements lapsed and this wannabe-couple got in. Agency spokesmen has refused to comment on the reports that investigating agents had visited the Salahis’ vineyard in Hume, Va., in search of the couple, to investigate how they managed to crash into the State Dinner even without a formal invitation.
