Dec.20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest offering by CBS network, “Live to Tell: The Birthday Party” showcased the story of American attorney Stanley Alpert, who was abducted in 1998 and the show saw him recounting incidents about his harrowing experience back then. The show turned out to be extremely interesting, as the attorney remembered intrinsic details relating to the night when he was kidnapped and his experiences thereafter.

Stanley Alpert was kidnapped just before his 38th birthday on January 21, way back in 1998 by armed abductors with the aim of gaining $50,000 from him. This led to a long hostage drama which was scary as well as slightly humorous at the same time. In the show, the federal prosecutor remembered the horrifying details of the crisis that he encountered during the period when he was at the mercy of his kidnappers. Being blindfolded all the time, the lawyer recounted the bizarre behavior of his abductors who would at some point threaten to kill him but later would also seek legal advice from him. During the entire ordeal, Stanley Alpert shared the location of his captivity with prostitutes and armed youths with his abductors being violent as well as friendly with him.

Moreover, the bizarre behavior of the kidnappers did not just end here as the abductors suddenly released him at Prospect Park, Brooklyn and also gave him $20 for taxi fare. Stanley Alpert explained that the incident as a life changing experience for him and emphasized that the bizarre turn of events made him realize the importance of life.

“Live to Tell” is a limited edition series on CBS that highlights stories of people who have near death experiences.
