Spring Breakers Urged To Follow Safety Tips In Mexico

springMexico City, Mexico, Mar 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In the wake of the increasing violence in Mexico, authorities have urged college students heading to the destination for some spring break fun to take necessary precautions. The U.S. State Department has issued certain safety tips to ensure that any untoward incident can be avoided in the region. The travel warning is likely to remain in effect till April 12.

Mexico has been witness to widespread violence in the recent past mainly owing to clashes between drug sellers. Such extensive hostility has rendered the place potentially unsafe for spring breaks although authorities have emphasized that spring breakers should go ahead with their plans as every tourist destination cannot be termed as unsafe.

The safety tips that have been issued by the authorities pleads the spring breakers to roam about in groups and important documents such as passport, driving license and other identification proofs should be kept handy. Moreover, the travelers have also been asked to follow the foreign laws in order to stay away from any kind of harsh punishment. At the same time, spring breakers have been urged to put up in populated and accessible areas so that help can reach them fast in case they need it. However, one of the prime safety tip, according to the officials, is to stay in constant touch with family members and to remain aware of the local news.

Sergeant Kevin McNichols, who is associated with the Arizona Department of Public Safety has implied that the safety tips should be taken seriously as some of the US citizens have been at the receiving end of crossfires.
