Sparky Anderson In Hospice Care, His Family Says

Sparky AndersonNov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former manager of Major League Baseball Sparky Anderson’s family has released a statement where it was stated that due to complications from “dementia,” he has been placed in “hospice care” at his California home. However, the family has not commented anything about his overall heath condition. The whole baseball fraternity is presently shocked and saddened to hear the news about former manager.

Kirk Gibson, the manager of Arizona Diamond backs has told in his statement that Sparky Anderson lives within him everyday. Kirk Gibson said that there is more Sparky Anderson in him than anyone else in the team. The present manager also said that he is going to stand up for what Sparky Anderson has taught them. Sparky Anderson’s family has said that they appreciate the support and kindness his friends and fans have shown all throughout his Hall of Fame career and his retirement. Kirk Gibson, in his telephonic interview told a reputed media source that Sparky Anderson taught them that scoreboard is like a “painting” as it always changes according to the whims of an artist.

Kirk Gibson also added that Sparky Anderson taught them how to play the game, respect the game and also at the same time how to “treat people”. Cincinnati Reds’ president and CEO Bob Castellini said in his statement that everybody is sad to hear the news of Sparky Anderson’s failing health. The statement also stated that every day the team is reminded of his contribution to the success of his “proud franchise”. The CEO of Cincinnati Reds on behalf of the whole team offered prayers and support to Sparky Anderson’s family in their difficult time.
