Southaven, MS man arrested for failing to support child
April 6th, 2010 - 11:01 pm ICT by BNO NewsJACKSON, MISSISSIPPI (BNO NEWS) – A Southaven, Mississippi man was arrested and indicted on charges of failing to pay his child support, Attorney General Jim Hood announced on Tuesday.
Marcus DeWayne Johnson, 30, was arrested at his Southaven residence by investigators with the Public Integrity Division of the Attorney General’s Office.
“This arrest followed an indictment by a Leflore County Grand Jury alleging the defendant was over $11,000 behind in his child support payments since March 2009,” said Attorney General Hood.
If convicted, Johnson faces up to five years in prison and to pay restitution regarding the child support arrearage.
