South Carolina preacher charged with kidnapping and rape
August 22nd, 2011 - 7:17 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattSummerville, Aug 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A pastor in South Carolina has been denied bail for raping at least two women. Investigators are currently looking into a third possible charge of sexual misconduct against the pastor.
Pastor Dale Richardson is accused of raping two women in a trailer behind his church. He was brought before Dorchester County Magistrate’s Arthur Bryngelson on Thursday on charges of kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct. His request for bail was denied by the judge. In denying Richardson a bail, the judge indicated that the pastor was a threat to society.
Prosecutors say Richardson gave his victims ride in his car and when they try to get down he will draw out a gun and then bind them. The officials say Richardson then sent his victims to the trailer where he would rape them and later send them to the Summersville woods and order them not to look back or else he would shoot them. Two of the victims have so far reported their ordeal to the police.
Investigators are looking into unsolved rape cases in the town to determine if there is any connection between them and Richardson. He was arrested last month and he has been in police custody since then.
