Sonora, Mexico man sentenced for border crimes in Arizona

TUCSON, ARIZONA (BNO NEWS) – A Sonora, Mexico man was sentenced in Tucson, Arizona to 105 months in prison (over 8 years) of charges of illegal re-entry after deportation and of violation of supervised release.

Pedro Puentes-Meza, 32 was caught by U.S. Border patrol agents on February 16, 2008. The agents found that he had an extensive criminal record, including 12 arrests as a juvenile and nine convictions as adult.

Seven of his arrests and convictions were for violent conduct, and 13 for victim related crimes. He also had three prior convictions for illegal re-entry after deportation, and he was deported from the United States five times.
