SoCal teacher Tonya Neff jailed for teaching while drunk
March 25th, 2010 - 11:07 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCalifornia, Mar 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A SoCal teacher Tonya Jeff has been jailed for teaching while drunk. The Toro Canyon Middle School teacher Tonya Neff was subsequently taken by the police, to the Indio jail on Tuesday. She has been booked for investigation on charges of felony child endangerment. When the officials of the Toro Canyon Middle School saw that Tonya was moving around drunkenly on the school’s campus, then they notified the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Tapp said that Tonya Neff had imbibed some prescription drugs with alcohol. They also found another alcoholic beverage in her possession. However the Coachella Valley school district Superintendent Ricardo Medina said that even though Tonya Neff was drunk, yet she posed no threat to her seventh-grade students. After the drunken incident, Tonya Neff has been subsequently put on leave.
