Snowy Weather Leads To School Closings

Dec 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the weather taking a bitter turn in this season as a result of the heavy snowfall accompanied by blizzards and rains, many schools have been kept closed. The school management chose to dismiss classes owing to the extreme bad weather conditions. The roads are icy and steeped under snow making it extremely risky for drivers to drive on the road. With this kind of weather, accidents are very common. There has already been cases of accidents resulting due to the icy roads.
Since the starting of this week, many schools in various provinces of U.S has taken the decision to remain shut. Recently, many schools in Georgia and Virginia were seen doing it for the sake of the school goers. However, the decision is taken keeping in mind not only the safety of the students but of the other staff members as well. According to weather department reports, many roads are still covered under 3-5 inches of snow. In such conditions, treading upon the roads are extremely perilous. School bus routes have also been declared unsafe. Recently schools came up serving notices. It has been notified by many schools that they will be closed until weather conditions improve slightly. While some said that if not closed fully they will conduct classes partially some schools have even decided to cancel all afternoon and evening activities. Some have also declared that they will be closing one hour early than the usual time.
On the whole, it has resulted in a gala time for the students who are missing their usual classes and are busy building snow man. However, parents are reported to be quite anxious about their wards missing out the lessons. As soon as weather conditions improve, the schools will resume their normal routine.
