London, Feb 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The current snowstorm in Europe is having massive impact on the way of life of many people. For some unfortunate British motorists who found themselves on M40 between Junction 4 High Wycombe and Junction 9 Bicester, it became a matter of struggle for life.

For more than three hours, about 100 motorists were trapped in their cars because of the heavy snow. Britain’s Highways Agency has warned that motorists should be careful as more snow is expected in the coming days.

Several flights in the leading airports in the country were either cancelled or suspended because of the bad weather. London’s Stansted Airport was temporary closed on Saturday evening. Officials say they cleared out the snow from the runway before reopening the airport at 23:45 GMT.

Some incoming flights to Luton Airport were diverted to other airports on Saturday when the facility was also closed for snow clearance. Passengers have been urged to confirm their flight with the airline before they set out to the various airports.

Cold temperatures and severe snow storms have been blamed for several deaths across Europe. Britain’s meteorological service has warned that the storm could continue into next week.
