Snow & Storm In East Coast Might Affect Retailers Before Christmas

Dec. 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) People residing in the East Coast region have been requested to take necessary precautions to defend against the severe winter weather conditions that is approaching the region. According to the reports, a storm that is approaching the coastal frontier may take a toll in the region and create a snow cover of twenty inches thickness.
The severity of the storm can also lead to power outage in different regions creating a chaotic situation in the weekend before the Christmas. A large number of people have made sufficient reserve of staples and groceries so that they do not run out of food during the adverse weather conditions. Not only people have reserved commodity of their basic needs but also many people were seen doing Christmas shopping on Friday.
Though many people have done their Christmas shopping on Friday, the retailers are worried about the sale that they had expected on the last Saturday before Christmas. The weather alert issued by National Weather Service in different regions have asked people to stay indoors for avoiding any mishap during the storm. Therefore, much people are not expected to flock to the stores on Saturday.
According to the reports, motorists were asked to avoid driving on Saturday as storm can approach anytime. Many regions have issued storm warning and Tim Kaine, the Governor of Virginia has declared an emergency in anticipation of this storm. It has come to the news that he has asked the National Guard as well as other agencies to remain alert, as they might be called for assisting people in this emergency situation.
